Common Procedures

Spinal Cord Stimulation, Peripheral Nerve Stimulation, Dorsal Root Ganglion Stimulators

Spinal Cord Stimulation is a treatment method for those with back pain, leg pain, peripheral neuropathy, and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). A spinal cord stimulator is surgically placed under the skin and sends a mild electrically current to your spinal cord to mask pain signals before they reach the brain.

Peripheral Nerve Stimulation is a treatment method for those with back pain, shoulder pain, hip pain, knee pain, extremity pain, and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). It is similar to spinal cord stimulation except the electrical currents are directed to the peripheral nerves that run from the spinal cord to the limbs and organs in your body, masking pain signals before they reach the brain.

Dorsal Root Ganglion Stimulation (DRG) is a treatment method for those with neuropathic conditions that include CRPS, pelvic pain, groin neuralgia, extremity pain, and other nerve pain involving isolated parts of the body. The DRG stimulator is similar to the spinal cord stimulator except it addresses your pain by acting on targeted DRG. Neurostimulation is a less invasive method than traditional back surgery or nerve destruction.
