About Your Bill

We make every effort to keep this process as simple as possible. Your surgical procedure will generate several different bills from different sources:

01

Green Mountain Surgery Bill

Green Mountain Surgery's bill covers the use of the facility and all necessary supplies used during your surgical procedure. If you need an estimate for the surgeon's fees, please contact their office directly.

02

Surgeon Bill

You will receive a separate bill from the surgeon who performed your surgery, this will be billed from the original office that scheduled your appointment.

03

Anesthesiology Bill

A separate bill from Anesthesia Associates of Vermont if you received Anesthesia during your procedure. For an estimate related to anesthesia services, reach out to Anesthesia Associates of Vermont at 517-787-6440 ext 4230.

04

Laboratory Charges

Other billable services that may be separately billed are laboratory charges. If any specimens are taken during your procedure, a separate bill for pathology services may be issued.

Conclusion

Our facility works with your doctor’s office to make sure we have accurate insurance information. We will contact your insurance carrier if there is any question about your eligibility. If it is determined that you are responsible for the bill in its entirety or just a portion, we will send an estimate, and if your estimated patient responsibility is large, we will call you in advance of your surgery to make payment arrangements.

Deductible

Is the amount of money you must pay out of your own pocket for covered medical expenses before your insurance company starts to pay. For example, if you have a $1000.00 deductible, you must pay the first $1000.00 of covered medical expenses yourself before your insurance starts to pay.

Out-of-pocket (OOP)

The maximum amount of money you will pay for covered medical expenses in a benefit year. Once the out-of-pocket maximum is met, the insurance plan typically covers 100% of covered expenses for the remainder of the coverage period.
