Common Procedures
Breast Reconstruction, Breast Augmentation, Breast Lift (Mastopexy), Repair of the Integumentary System (Skin)
Breast reconstruction surgery restores one or both breasts to near-normal shape, appearance, symmetry, and size following mastectomy, lumpectomy, or congenital deformities. Breast reconstruction surgery often occurs after treatment for breast cancer. This type of surgery can improve patients’ self-image and self-confidence and is a safe and effective procedure to perform on an outpatient basis.
Breast lift: A breast lift — also known as mastopexy — is a surgical procedure performed by a plastic surgeon to change the shape of the breasts. During a breast lift, excess skin is removed, and breast tissue is reshaped to raise the breasts. This type of surgery can improve patients’ self-image and self-confidence and is a safe and effective procedure to perform on an outpatient basis.
Breast augmentation: Breasts can be rebuilt either using breast implants or fat transfer to increase the size in your breast to achieve desired breast size. Many women who have a mastectomy, the surgery to remove an entire breast to treat or prevent breast cancer, have the option of having the shape of the removed breast rebuilt with this surgery. Repair of Integumentary System: The Integumentary System includes the skin and its appendages including hair, nails, and various glands, and repair may be required during a variety of surgical procedures that improve health including cancer surgeries, weight loss surgeries, and facial repair surgeries. Procedures may include but are not limited to, operations involving the skin near the eyes, nose, face, feet, hands, breasts, genitals, or other regions.
